The Chase

A few months ago, Unity has released an impressive technical demo running on an Android Nexus 7 device. This demo was made specifically for the Siggraph 2013 to showcase the strength of Unity on mobile devices.

I was hoping that Unity technologies would eventually make the Unity project available to the community like they always have in the past. It now seems that they won’t do it.

Am I the only one who would be interested in using some of the technics that were developped for this demo, like the skin shader or the atmospheric scattering?

It would be really great if Unity Technologies could make the project available to all Unity developers. And in case some material of the demo is copyrighted and cannot be disclosed, Unity Technologies could at least release the shaders, image effects and scripts.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read some time ago that the project files for The Chase are going to be released eventually.

I hope that you are right =)

If you search the forums, you’ll see that it’s waiting on Unity 4.3… which will be released “when it’s ready”.

its ready!

Only took them three years. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s quicker then the UI system. For Unity three years is pretty quick.

Does this even open properly in Unity 5.x?

Doubt it. It’s made for Unity 4.5 and uses at least one commercial asset store package in the final product. If this is the state their technical demos are going to be in when they are released then I have to wonder why they even bothered with them.

Hmm, I came into this thread thinking it was about a Unity game based on The Chase TV show lol, but would they have enough Polygons to make a model of Mark Labett? With due respect to the guy he is quite a big lad.
