Problem reproduction steps
- Have a source model and source animation clip and Unity version: 2023.2.20f1c1.
- Copy the original animation clip and put it into the Motion of a certain state of the source animator.
- Click Preview of Animation, and then right-click the component of Inspector regardless of whether you click Preview again or not. The result will be as shown in the figure below. It seems that this happens not only for the inspector, but also for right-clicking any Asset in the Project. It may be okay to click PlayMode to edit animation clips, but Preview is basically useless. I did not click the Animation record button during the above process.
What’s even more troublesome is that I can’t find a way to recover other than re-uninstalling the editor!!!
We had some bugs in a new menu system that was introduced in 2023.2, unfortunately we had to back out the system in 2023.3/6. I suggest you update to Unity 6 which should solve these issues.
Hello,
Even though I’m experiencing the issues mentioned above, I’m still managing to use it well.
I’m also working around the problem where some custom editors in the inspector don’t display properly, so that’s not a big issue for me at the moment.
However, I would like to switch to version 6000. Is there a way to port only this specific functionality to version 6000?
Alternatively, would it be possible to extract just the right-click menu feature and make it installable in version 6000 via Git?
Currently, the right-click menu feature does not work in version 6000, so I’m forced to complete my work in version 2023 and only upgrade to 6000 for the final build. This workflow is quite inconvenient.
The right-click menu functionality is something I really need in version 6000.
Would you be able to provide any help with this?
Thank you.
The menu system is deeply integrated, its not something we can provide optionally or in parts. We are still working on stabilizing the new menu system and will reintroduce it when we feel its stable.
You could try spawning your own menus if you need something thats not currently supported:
