The Future of Game Design?

This is a thread of more spectulation than fact. I mean what will happen for the future of game design? This isn’t about the industry but what do you guys think about what will change about making them?

This again.

The gaming industry isn’t going anywhere. It is one of the few industries that showed continued growth and profit, even through the worst recessions.

Will the platforms change? Sure. Computers will eventually merge with consoles, and take over the living room (and soon, your entire house), meanwhile phones and tablets will merge into a portable version of what computers once were (for web use and some gaming).

Gaming will be different, but no different than from one gen console to the next.

Yah because after there making that money its all green for them

Understood. I didn’t find this thread, thank you.

No worries. I thought your post would be about something else, since you had specifically said Game Design, not the gaming industry.

Of course, there’s a post about that floating around here too (about doing away with the old GDD and such).

Well that was intended I guess I got off topic ^-^||| Changing post.

Don’t have anything meaningful to add to the discussion aside from linking an earlier thread of mine, where I, rather naively, posted what I hope the future developers will consider some day.

And 1000 000$ pineapples (see “Polly”).

I don’t Game design will change much, really only for new technologies. Like VR, kinect, etc.

I’d like to see more AR development.
