Anyone know why layers 3, 5, 6, and 7 are missing? I’ve never understood that…
Reserved in case they decided they needed more built-in layers for something.

I see, you’re probably right. But why did they scatter them, couldn’t they have picked layers 1, 2, and 3 and left 4 - 7 in reserve?
Also why is there only 32 layers? I realize that it’s the size of an int but couldn’t they have used a long or something? Or even figure out some other system for the layers, maybe similar to Tags (because tags don’t have a fixed size).
