Not sure if you guys did any testing of the new docs site on mobile, but it’s pretty terrible. Almost unusable, even. Scrolling down the list of classes in the menu is excruciating, and the layout makes me want to throw things. I understand this isn’t an issue to most users, but I actually do some of my coding on my phone (with a bluetooth keyboard), and I’m now spending about 4 times as much time just navigating to a class I need to look up, which slows my workflow down to a crawl.
Agreed. The navigation menu stays on front of the screen. Can’t see a think. Using Samsung S2.
It’s mostly not usable on my iPod…kinda sorta works but not really in landscape mode, and not at all in portrait mode. It almost completely fine on my iPad though, aside from portrait mode having some minor layout issues, so it seems hard-coded to only really work on larger screens.

I can zoom it out on my iPhone and see it just fine. The text is a bit small, of course, but readable. And I can see everything.
But yes, it could definitely use some improvement there.
Did you try the navigation menu on your iPhone? It doesn’t really work on my iPod, zoomed out or not. Trying to scroll it occasionally works but mostly doesn’t.

It’s not just mobile. Even on desktop browser the new docs have ugly formatting that makes them pretty hard to grasp information at a glance. The scrolling part on the side is also for some reason very small and doesn’t go from the top of the page to the bottom (in Google Chrome, anyway).
(We’ve been talking about these problems today. Not sure what the outcome will be, but we’re looking into it.)
So glad UT changed them without checking with actual users… A real mechanim. Can we link this thread into the “What can we do better” thread?
The feedback from the beta list was overall positive. What issues do you have?
