The real scoop on iPhone 4 resolution

I did a search but still unable to fill in the needed information. I’m setting up my Unity 3.0 app to work on iPad and iPhone.

The super-fine resolution of the iPhone 4 could throw a bit of a wrinkle in things. The text and GUIs could end up too small and fine. The iPad has a larger display, and I’m fine with its resolution.

It would be fine with me if the app ran at 320x480 on all iPhones, and 768x1024 on iPads. That way I don’t need to supersize fonts and Rects. However I don’t know if there is a mode that allows that.

Anyway, I’d appreciate knowing the resolutions for the following Unity settings with an app whose target device is: iPhone + iPad:

What are the iPhone 4 resolutions for:
Native?
Standard?
HD?

And what are the iPad resolutions for:
Native?
Standard?
HD?

Native runs at whatever the device is capable of… Ipad is 1024x728… iPhone is 480x320… iPhone4 is 960x640

Standard is 480x320 on all devices.

Make them resolution-independent.

If you don’t have any 640x960 support, then it will run pixel-doubled at 320x480. You may get knocked for this though; people kind of expect native display support, and all iDevices that Apple sells now are either 640x960 or 1024x768.
