I like to alternate between two completely different projects, so, for the moment,this project has my focus.
This application will provide a virtual science room environment whereby the user can build, experiment and interact with real world apparatus and objects, and generally have some interactive fun! Many rural schools in South Africa have not had the luxury of a well-equipped science lab, so I’m hoping that this application will provide a simple fun introduction to practical science and technology.
Here is a video previewing the room, together with only some of the assets which will be used in the tasks and the interactive demonstrations which will be set for the user. The video also shows me demonstrating some random acts of fun and destruction using the mouse/keyboard combination to manipulate selected objects.
As a starter, I will be providing three practice tasks by which the user can familiarize himself/herself with using the mouse/keyboard combination in manipulating the objects, which is an absolutely essential requirement for accurate interactivity:
