The Stanley Parable

Amazing experiment of story telling and choice in video games.

The narrator alone is worth the download XD

Checked it out, played the video, downloaded the player but don’t want to install HL2 just to play it.
Maybe later.

Yeah if that dude had any sense he’d have used unity

You don’t need Half Life, just install the source SDK which is now free

I saw the video , but im too lazy to download :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, I have HL2, where is the source SDK located?

It’ll be in the tools tab

When I ran the game it downloaded source SDK for me.

Very enjoyable and worth the time to get everything up. You can’t really say anything on it without potentially ruining it for others.

Well except that it is reeeally short, even if you see all 3-4 endings.
Or have i missed something?

The endings are more like 6, but yeah it’s pretty short. Not that that’s a problem.

noclip, go to giant orange room. There’s a bit more

You don’t have to noclip to get there, you just need to go through the right permutations to get there.

Game’s awesome. Not perfect, but still awesome.

The right permutations = completely ignoring the narrator and raising his blood pressure.

Not finding a tools tab.

The only option I have is to install HL2.

Ah, I didn’t realize the elevator was a choice

Don’t use Desura. Just download it normally and extract it into your Steam “steammods” folder, then restart Start. Double-click on the game, and it will download the Source base.

Brilliant game concept.

There seems to be a lot of “different” mods for HL2. I wonder why they choose to use that engine.

Because steam have offered editing tools for all their games for a long long time and modders are used to it. There are obviously mods for a lot of PC games but the character poser makes machinima easy.

Ok, got and played it, thanks.
