Thanks for all the support over the past few months. The Unity3D iOS Beginners Guide (which started out as a set of tutorials), has finally been released to stores worldwide. Unity3.5 has added quite a few things which will be covered in a revision with the Intermediate guide.
The book will be good for people trying to get started. 3.5 added a bunch of stuff after the ship date for the book so that will be covered in the revision.
I had your book Unity iOS Game Development pre ordered since originally announced. Packt Publshing sent me an email at 5am my time today, Friday 2/24/2012 saying it was now available and I could download my copy. I went to the site immediately and downloaded the PDF as I was really excited to read it finally. I put it on my iPad and went off to work. While at work I began reading thru the book and came to find there were chapter files / resource files for the book that were necessary to follow along with the book and complete the exercises. I went back to the Packt site to download the files, thinking I must have missed them in my excitement earlier. To my dissapointment they were nowhere to be found on their site for download. I was very much looking forward to working through the book in its’ entirety over the weekend and the timing couldn’t have been better to do so. For now it looks like I have to shelf the book until I can acquire the missing files. I wanted to reach out to you, being the author and see if there was any information on how to get the files since I purchased the e book legitimately and now can’t actually follow along. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
For those who haven’t received files associated with the eBook, know that I am working with the publisher to resolve this issue so that you can follow along with the examples.
The model that I downloaded from the Unity Assets store didn’t have bones attached to it and I think that is why it isn’t animating. Anyone else have a similar issue?
