"The update operation found some issues" on hidden files is annoying

Hi,

I added a few files to hidden_changes.conf and they are not showing up in pending changes as intended. However, when I switch branch the “Update results” window pop ups with the message “The update operation found some issues. Please review them.” which after some research I understand a bit about why but at the same time it completely defeats the point of using hidden_changes from the perspective of making a developer’s life easier. Is there a way to work around this behaviour? Is there way for the GUI to be more clear about why a developer is getting this pop up because at the moment its not super clear.

Hi Erik,

Items in this list are controlled items that can be changed but the user doesn’t want them to appear by default on the Pending changes view.

If you wish the items not updated, you might want to consider using cloaked config. If you wish the items are not controlled via version control, you might need to consider ignore config. You can find both config information from here:Plastic SCM version control · Administrator's guide
