Thinking about creating a hybrid game KI2/MK

How hard would it be to create a game that has a KI2/GOLD like speed, combo system and mortal kombat like gore? I like KI2/GOLD graphics as well but also like the MK:Trilogy graphics…can’t decide

I will be pretty much making the game on my own unless someone is willing to help. Characters, animations, levels, scripting, everything

I can do it…after all mortal kombat started with only 4 people and was created in 10 months so I give myself at least 3 years if I’m by myself the entire time.

Just know, it’s always harder and more complex than you imagine it to be. Be ready to have lots of willpower and motivation to keep going. If you want ‘free’ help it’s best to get something promising started in Unity first, then post it in the collaboration section.

Yea of course I’m willing to accept free help…I’m going to start with the levels since that’s the easiest thing in my eyes to do…because i have a little programming knowledge, but pick up things way above average…

start small. maybe make two fighting cubes that can punch each other and have health. expand from there.
good luck on the level design too.

Word of advice, if you haven’t released any Unity titles previously, get a few very simple games under your belt, then tackle your big project.
Don’t jump head in. You’ll get discouraged. Small, incremental and COMPLETE projects are key to building up your skills and confidence as a Unity developer.

And don’t forget your game design document. Very important. Don’t even start prototyping without a basic version of it.

This game is going to be divided into small parts and released…the final game is going to be all the parts with some added features built in.
