I was reading about this. I want this game bad.
I think it will be better than the original game itself I’m so excited.
For any fans of the soundtrack here is a the soundcloud link which has basically fuelled my working week. Stream Power Glove music | Listen to songs, albums, playlists for free on SoundCloud
Wow look at that awesome lighting, and those great flashy effects. Love the engine. Game looks very fun too, little Duke Nukem style:smile:
Wohoo! I’m playing Far Cry 3 in these days, and finding it incredibly awesome (apart the protagonist, which I really don’t like - but it seems like a mean to an end, story-wise, so I might like that too). Eager to play this one too.
I saw some of the gameplay footage of the leaked version and this is definitely a game that knows where’s it’s coming from and knows all the right buttons to press to trigger my horrible VHS action movie love. Plus at $15 and not requiring me owning Far Cry 3? That’s pretty great.
I think real 80’s computer graphics were more aestheticly pleasing than this. But maybe it’s just a bad trailer.
I literally marked out when i saw this… and after hearing the Little Richard song during the helicopter sequence, I WANT TO PLAY THIS!! Also the 8bit cutscenes are a nice piece of work
I loved Far Cry 3, but this? This is just… all my love!
Which is why i’m simultaneously really excited about this release and at the same time extremely wary of it. ![]()
On the face of it, it looks like a return to some of the fun, simple roots of old skool gaming, that it ties strongly into nostalgia and ‘plays around’ with such nostalgia. From what I’ve seen so far it certainly looks like its a perfect game to market at myself, the question I have is whether its actually going to be a good/fun game?
I do think its interesting that a game with such little marketing (at least at first a week or so ago) can almost instantly generate such interest from myself (and apparently many others), almost to the point of ‘I must have this game’. Its kinda surprising that such a game hasn’t really been done for a while, at least not at AAA level standard, since several indie games have tied into similar aspects previously.
Whether the game itself turns out to be good or bad I don’t think will matter, as hopefully it will open up gaming especially in the AAA market towards slightly less realistic/gritty games that we seem to be inundated with these days and which have frankly become a bit stale. Of course the danger is that for the next five years this is the only style of game we end up getting, but such is the swings and roundabouts of fads and markets.
The leaked footage I saw looked fun and it looks like it has a faster combat flow than FC3 did on its own. But really, at $15? Even if it’s just above average that’s a risk I’m willing to take.
For the sake of those of us who have youtube blocked by their workplace… what is this exactly? Seems everyone in this thread is intentionally not mentioning the name to secretly make fun of me… everyone hyping “it”, and how “it” will be better than Far Cry 3… is this Far Cry 4??? what is it?!! ![]()
It’s a $15 standalone title heavily modelled after terrible direct to VHS sci-fi action movies of the 80s, complete with neon lighting, lots of purple, VHS distortion, robot enemies with digitised voices, and Michael Biehn of Terminator fame voicing the lead character.
No title to google screenshots or anything? That does sound epic… I got to change carriers I would be able to check this in my phone if it was not for horrible Sprint…
well somebody likes old school duke nukem.

So… this is a mod for Farcry 3 then right?
Nope, it’s a real product you can buy without even owning Far Cry 3 to play. It’s only $15 and comes out in a few weeks.
Oh I know, thats why its sitting in my Steam basket for the pre-order, just can’t quite pull the trigger ![]()
yeah, it would’ve been cool if the whole game was 80s like the trailer was. However, the single MOST greatest thing from this game: Michael Biehn!!
