Being new myself, I may have missed it, but it appears there is no location dedicated to beginner questions.
It’s possible to continue running through the tutorials to all my questions are answered (will that ever happen? 
) but it would be nice to have a location to ask basic questions that most members will probably know off right off.
As the popularity of Unity begins to grow, the newbie questions may become annoying to members in the current folders.
How come your 1st post wasn’t over in Collaboration, looking for a team to make the best ever MMO?
You’re right tho, this forum is in desperate need of more faqs/stickies for newcomers. You see the same questions asked over, and over…and over.
“Search” isn’t great either, but plenty of people will point you in the right direction to a thread or offer help.
FAQs don’t solve the problem nor do stickies unhappily.
People not willing to use search won’t search FAQ and Stickies either.
Also, the Answers system was meant for newcomers FAQ / Sticky basically, now they just should be pointed more agressively there I guess
Don’t see whats bad about search it does all it needs to do if not, click search and use the advanced search.
I don’t know if its just the things I’ve been searching for, but whenever I try that search box has always failed me. Its given me threads that have absolutely nothing to do with what I want.
Thats cause the fast search box isn’t allowing you to use the real power. if you want to do a detailed search, click search above and use the advanced search that commonly helps.
Also being as precise as possible about the topic not using any “general term” helps a lot

Built in forum search indexes are always fail compared to google. They generally ignore keywords three or less characters. Try typing “car ai” into the box and you’ll see what I mean. Use google’s site search and you’ll get a flood of information.
You can drop the “//” and save yourself some typing even
Edit to add: This also searches the manual and answers.unity3d.com as well, which gives you access to even more information than just searching the forums. Which is of course A Good Thing ™.

100?! Wow, Thanks so much! I’m sure it’ll be a big help. Our Tech-artist is picking up Unity very quickly, but then he knows how to add. 
a) A beginners section can make sense.
b) The search functionality mostly doesn’t convince as a efficient tool for solving your problems.
c) Best could be a edited database approach. This obviously involves ressources on Unity’s and/or the community’s side(s).
I vote +1 for the newcomers section.
