After each 3-lap race your score is uploaded to the website’s database and racers from all over the world can view their laps times on the leader board page. You’re also scored on best jump height, distance, and air time. At the end of each tournament, prizes are awarded to the racer with the best lap time. Here are some screenshots:
Edit #1: oh, Windows only for the stand-alone… Rats, just wasted time on the 50MB download.
Edit #2: and sorry, that’s a bit too much information to ask of me to register and play a game online. I’ll find a Windows machine here in house to play the stand-alone on I guess. Sorry to nitpick there, it’s just some honest feedback.
If you want a reasonable bump in publicity, make a Mac version (I mean, you’re using Unity…) and submit a press release to insidemacgames.com. Also the signup should be fixed; I don’t see why it’s necessary to supply anything more than an email address and a password.
Am I the only one on the internet who has developed a reflex muscle memory response of rolling your hand across the keyboard when personal information is requested?
I’m probably registered as “sdfsdfgadfgdfg.” Someone may ask for your intimate details, nothing written says you have to abide by that request.
No, I do that too (well, actually I usually get “creative”–apparently I’ve lived in some fascinating places). But I’d prefer that people just save everyone the necessity of the hand-rolling maneuver and not ask in the first place.
I used to but since people started using the notion of a verification email to ensure that at least the email address is valid, I just don’t bother. Besides, I figure I’m doing them more of a favour by telling them I’m not registering than I am by filling their database with nonsense.
I don’t want to be too negative for a free game but an option for online submission/registration or offline play without login would be nice.
I tend to be a little paranoid about games conectiong to the internet. Took me 6 years already to trust steam enough to install it on my windows machine.
