Hey kids,
Thought I would post a few screens from a temple level I’ve been working on.
It’s just a start, but oh so green!

That is the coolest religious-themed Polynesian golf environment I have ever seen
Looks like fun, too.
Looking neat and nice as always… just wanted to mention that if you set those background jungle texture billboards to Clamp instead of Repeat you wouldn’t have those ugly lines floating up there.
Can you spare some more polygons? How about more resolution of the texture on the tree trunk?
Man getting a jungle look has got to be a challenge… any tips to it? I’d love to have a jungle level in my pizza delivery game.

the background seams to be yellowish while the 3D trees and grass etc are very green, maybe you should try to find a new background that fits better with the green!?
oh, and the textures ought to be of higher res
But overall, looking good
Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah pulling off a jungle is kind of tuff… I still need to add 3D forground trees and plants. That should help sell the flat textured backgroung. It took a couple trys before I got a background txture that had that “full” jungle feel.
I forgot to say how great the defuse detail texture is It really helps pop the stone. The textures are baked and then poped out with the detail texture.
The only thing about that is, seeing it makes me think that’s a tough surface for playing mini golf on. I wonder about the disconnect of seeing rough stone, and then having the ball rolling over it like the perfectly flat surface it really is. But that’s probably me being nitpicky. (Speaking of which, is that just the texture or does it need anisotropic filtering turned on?)

Very nice screenshots cgoran.
This will be a nice game.
Which tool you use to bake the textures ?
Thanks man. I’m using Lightwave for baking. I wish I could get multiple UVs and vertex color info out of Lightwave though. But the detail texture action is working out ok.
