I’ve started working today on a tile based Level creation tool.
After 300 lines of code I got a first stable running and simple to use tool.
The tool allows the user to place gameobjects tile/grid based in a very easy to use manner.
The system works in a similiar way like most of the XYZ_ville games or simply like Sims buildmode.
Just pick a few Prefabs, hit play and start placing everything accurate in exact distance. ![]()

- Easy Drag&Drop Object selection and placement
- Rotate items 90 degrees along Y and X axis
- Accurate tile/grid measurement
- Placement in Gamemode, easy to save afterwards
- Custom Editor that lets you create the tilebuilder per buttonclick and tweak its values in a comfortable way
- Exact CollisionDetection: Dont build Objects when there are built Objects nearby
