Tinker's World

Hello everyone,

This is a game that I have been working on for about four weeks. It is called Tinker’s World. It still needs a lot of work but I have finally got enough done to build a Web Player version of the prototype. I will keep updating the Web Player as new features are added. This game is in the prototype or alpa phase. I ave done all if the coding and 3D modeling myself.

Story:
Tinker is a robot that is made from parts in the junkyard where he lives. His creator, or as Tinker referred to him, his father made lots of creations from things found in the junkyard. Although he made lots of creations, Tinker was always his favorite. This caused the other creations to become jealous, and out of that jealousy, the kill their creator. Now Tinker is all alone.

Type of Game:
Tinker’s World is a side scroller that utilizes rotating platforms that allows the character to not only move along the X axis, but also the Z axis.

Targeted Platforms:
Tinker will be released on iOS and eventually Android. Our future goal is to possibly release it on Xbox Live, Windiws 8, and Wii U.

Also, I forgot to mention the character moves with the Left and Right Arrow and Jumps with the Spacebar.

I’m trying it right now, but I have to reload the client every time I fail because the retry button doesn’t work, quite annoying.

I’ll post back with how I like the game.

I like the idea of the game, but the cameras are EXTREMELY BUGGY.

They don’t rotate half the time, and the don’t rotate for a good 10 seconds after you jump on something sometimes, which can cause A LOT OF CONFUSION about where you are suppose to go.

The first moving platform, the camera angle doesn’t change for a while, and it seems as if you have to keep going the way you were before, but in reality you have to wait a while for the camera to change.

Overall, its pretty awesome and it has potential, with some bug fixes.

Hello.

Thank you for the great response. You are correct about the cameras. As of right now I have the rotation points set as colliders which means you have to touch the collider for the camera to rotate. That requires moving slightly to touch the invisible collider which is not the best way of doing it. That is something that I’m working on fixing.

I need to create an HTML button that restart the game. That is something that I agree needs addressed.

The camera rotation points that really need addressed are the ones on the moving platforms. The ones on the static platforms seem ok, but this is what I like about having a community like this. People see things differently. It can be difficult to see anything when you are the one creating it because you know how things work inside and out. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me some feedback. Feedback helps make ok or good games into great games.

You could attach the trigger to the dynamic platform so that the trigger stays with it when it moves.

Also, no problem, the games fun, just buggy
