Hello, I have an unusual character that I’m trying to animate. It’s mostly a normal human character and I really want to use the humanoid rig / IK, but the feet are really important to the animation and the toes need separate bones, at least one bone per toe and preferably two bones, perhaps even three. I really want to use the Mecanim humanoid for this, but is there any support for separate toe bones with mecanim? It doesn’t look like it, but what are my options for creating wiggling toes on top of a humanoid IK rig?
Two options
- Use humanoid with avatar mask to keep the toe bones apart from the humanoid set up, and create animation layers along with layer masks to animate the toe bones separately from the locomotion of the character.
Look up these topics in documentation and training material to solve your unique setup requirements. - Use generic - since this will give the best (most accurate) animation output.
