Hi guys!
I love TOEM visual style and i’m trying to reproduce it on Unity. I realized they use billboard sprints for foliages and characters and simple 3D blocks for the map. But do you have a clue about how they made the visual of the buildings on the game (texture + outline), like the wood house on the attached image?
Is it an outline shader? Is it an well rounded UV mapping?
These are textures with outline painted into them, but not every single one - for example rocks are probably hull inverted outlines, but everything else looks like black lines painted at the edge of object UV. Maybe to make it look better there is special mesh with additional vertices on the edge, but I don’t think so.
