Top Down Shooter WIP - WebPlayer!

Hello everyone! I’ve been working on a small learning project and it has grown to something that I am considering investing some more time and work into. I’m to the point where I want to know if my game is any fun! If you could try it out and comment with anything that comes to mind (thoughts while playing - things you think should be there - bugs you run into). This is my first true attempt at game creation so please be gentle.

Controls:

Left Click - Fire
W/A/S/D or Arrows - Move Camera
Mouse Wheel - Zoom In/Out
P - Open shop (Camera needs to be near base)

There are also graphics settings in-game under the “Options” button.

ToDo:

  • More structures (?)
  • More weapons (?)
  • Boss enemies (?)

That was pretty cool, but got too hard too fast. After spending most of my money on a sniper rifle and some walls, I thought I would be ready. But soon enough they broke through/jumped over my defences and I was swarmed becasue I wasn’t allowed to access the shop.

Hmm maybe I need to change the way the shop is accessed, but I have not had a problem with it yet. You should be able to open it by pressing “P” while the camera is close/touching your base to the far left.As for the problem with it getting to hard to fast - sorry about that haha. I have been using the automatics for testing, need to do some balancing yet I see. Try using the machine gun from level 1, then save for walls / turrets as you get farther in. There are 3 different kinds of enemies to fight at the moment, you’ve got to get to the 5th level for the coolest ones

As a first attempt this is very good and probably better than I could do. The implementation is not bad, however the gameplay breaks down into clicking like mad in front of your base and then diving into the shop to try to get more stuff before you die. I also think that it is too hard and that the walls, etc. should last a bit longer and the enemies should be a bit slower.

this looks pretty cool, too bad my internets too slow to run it =(

A very interesting targeting marker. This game could be a lot of fun, but it seems somewhat buggy to me. Like second time I played a very difficult opponents (the Whitecubes - sounds like a 60’s band  came in the first wave so I quickly lost. The third time I played I won in less than 10 seconds.

Graphics and inventory look very nice. Hope to see more of this game soon.

Nice one, target marker is a bit odd though.
