It all comes from here:

So itās as accurate as UT is honest.
Of course, I never doubted it
Just thought it was awesome!
Iām suddenly feeling very motivated.
Edit: Iād love to know the median monthly profit though.
Motivated: Me too!
Profit: Good point, also UTās 30% cut - admin costsā¦
Yes, but that number would probably be skewed because there are so many publishers who make little to no money.
Thereās always the short head
and long tail
of this sort of thing. A lot of people make much less, a few make much more. I expect most of the big dollar assets are those which higher price tags, lots of support, updates, websites, forums, extra materials, all that stuff. At the lower end I imagine it trickles out more⦠I make maybe on average only $200-$300 per month with assets in the $20-ish range, for example, which is far removed from 20-30,000 which is 100 times more!
It is inspiring to hear these stories of whats possible
, but I imagine you have to really dedicate yourself to it fulltime if you want to have that kind of income.
Itād be interesting if someone would set up an asset store developers survey, with some detailed questions, for the benefit of the community to have a better understanding of the lay of the land. Iād be willing to fill it out.
I have one asset at $20. I make on average $1,100 to $1,500 per month after Unity takes their 30% cut. My best month was I think $4,700 but I donāt really count that one because I was featured and running a special sale and all proceeds from the first 19 days of December went to Charity, so only $1,700 of that was takehome for me. The reason for the 19th date was because I had to know the total, pledge and write a check before Christmas as it all went to a local homeless shelter that used it to buy hats, gloves and Christmas presents for the children.
Iām pretty happy with my revenue but I also put a lot (and I mean a lot) of time into support, helping my customers create the proper classes they need and even helping them write custom converters, the occasional bug fix and adding new functionality.

Thanks for the info Dustin.
About a little more than a year ago 10% of the publishers were making at least $2K / month. I assume this number went up with the number of users growing constantly.
The number of publishers went up considerably as well. That being said, with the numbers I quoted, I fluctuate between the #1 and #2 spot in Top Grossing for Scripting / Input Output. I donāt even make the top 10 for the general Scripting section⦠so Iām betting there are a lot of very profitable assets.
Iāve heard that scripts and such make by far the most. Iād really like to know what the top selling art assets are making.
My company makes about $2,000 - $2,300 monthly with our main 2 plugins (not including any featuring). Master Audio is usually in the top 3-6 spots in Editor Extensions when there isnāt some huge 10-day sale.
Sold 3 of these Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making, whats wrong with it(had no negative feedback)? :] Or is it normal that 3d models dont sell?
Everything looks done well (page info, models) so I would say the price is way too high for your biggest target audience (people who make zombie games who usually are newbies doing one of their first projects with low budget (no offense to anyone))
Iād say 2 issues, 1 while they are good, they are not complex enough for someone to think āNo way I could build themā and 2 they are not usable right out of the box, someone needs to create characters or buy some in order to use they, which chances are if they create the character, itās not going to be hard to make some tools, but if they buy some, many of the models will include some weapons with them.
Yeah bring it down to $2 or $5 and they will sell.
^this
Hehe, thanks for the feedback :]
I have plans to add value to that package so I`ll keep the price.
