Looks really cool! have been having something similar in my mind for ages, fps survival type of game
Thanks for the comment sitting :), glad you like it. Should be really fun to see what people think when I get the network deployment ready w/some beasties to shoot!
I accidentally messed up the camera so that it uses the standing and crouching heights backwards, so there might be a weakness in the code there. Other than that, I have no complaints. Looks good.
This project is dead?
Dude…february, last year
Hey folks, Nightfall is alive and well :), a few things to note:
-
I have created a blog to communicate my progress, ton of new stuff i’ll be posting/discussing there : http://nightfallgame.blogspot.ca .
-
There’s always a build up at: http://logicwell.com/nightfall/tpc.html - feel free to give it a whirl, it may be out of date or even broken if i’m using it to test certain aspects of the TPC code, but something will be there.
-
This is an old thread, i’ve created a thread to track my progress specifically with the TPC, found here: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/166689-Interactive-TPC
If you’re reading from this thread a lot has changed, one of the major reasons for refocusing back on player controller code is the release of Unity3D 4.0 and my purchase of Unity3D 4.0 Pro + use of mecanim. All of the animations are custom made and going through several iterations as we tweak both code and animations to suit.
I’ll update the TPC thread with additional controller instructions.
Oh wow you’ve done a lot! Any chance you’ll continue updating this thread along with your blog?
I’ll do my best, right now i’m going to let this thread be silent and update the thread: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/166689-Interactive-TPC . Reason being that the thread just linked is focused on my ThirdPerson Controller framework/camera and TPC is my 100% focus atm - I want it to be fluid, bug free and feel just right for this type of game. That’s still a ways off - but progress is being made!
I’ve seen / tried your Interactive TPC, it’s quite something!
Hey Chris, please answer my private message. ^^
