TRackIR support?

One of my beta testers trying my game remarked that he wished he could use his TrackIR (instead of the mouse, to control camera views) “but alas, Unity, like many Mac games, talks to the mouse hardware directly and so this does not work.”

I have no idea if the above is actually true :? but, the bigger question is, is support for devices like TrackIR possible with Unity? For the thing I’m working on (a kind of flight sim) it would actually be most welcome…

AFAIK TrackIR doesn’t work on a Mac (they don’t provide Mac drivers)… I’d love to get mine working but the company doesn’t seem too interested in providing Mac support.

My friend is a Mac only type guy and he has it working somehow in WW2OL, XPlane, Star Wars BF, etc.

He might be using ControllerMate to map the TrackIR to the mouse output --not sure. I’ll get the details.
