Transferring Unity scene from old to new computer

Hello,

I made a cut scene a few months ago and have since gotten a new computer. I’ve sent myself the Unity package file and the Timeline Unity scene file, but I cannot play the scene in a new project. Please help!

Thanks,
Chris

Why exactly you can’t play the scene? Compilation error in the console?

Hello, sorry for the absence. When I bring my zipped scene into Unity on the new computer, the scene remains blank, even though all of the assets are in the Project view. The timeline is blank, although the timelines are in the asset folder. Also, assets with global game managers are blocked

Progress! I got the scene back, and now I just have to get my cinemachine timelines back in the right places

I’d zip/rar the entire project folder, then copy it over to the new machine, extract it, and open it as one whole project, rather than using unity packages.

Hi MD_Reptile,
I would do that, but the old machine is no longer running. It was seriously on its last leg. I’m going to Office Space it in a few days.

I’d pull the old drive and put it into an external enclosure or another PC.

Good luck!
