Hello All!
I’m needing to shoot a object from the endpoint of an arrow. I have modeled my arrow in Maya and I have the pivot point at the base end (opposite of the arrow point).
I use the arrow keys to rotate the arrow left and right. When the player hits spacebar, I need to launch an object from the base of the arrow to the object follows the direction of the arrow.
The arrow is off the ground (to give the user that it is coming from a normal player height) BUT the object is being spawned from the ground (think like kicking a soccer ball).
Because the arrow is off the ground, when you shoot an an angle, it seems to appear to the side of the arrow, but still the correct path the arrow was pointing.
I thought that I would just place a dummy object at the end of the arrow and spawn the object (ball) from that point. But that still doesn’t look correct. I am using TransformPoint to get the world position of the dummy object to spawn from but since it’s coming from the ground, it still doesn’t look correct
Any other thoughts on how to fix this?
