Transition Speed using Blend Trees (v4.1)

I’ve been refactoring my animation state machine here to accommodate blend trees more and came across a snag.

I have a blend tree that looks like the following:

1200246--47996--$2013-03-25_0959.png

Pretty basic locomotion blend tree, with idle → walk → run. So my problem is that when it transitions into the crouching blend tree, depending on which animation clip is playing the transition will be near instant or take a LONG time (~3s). If I tweak the transition time for walking → crouch to look nice, then idle takes 3s. If I tweak idle → crouch to look nice, then walk → crouch is instantaneous.

Is there some means, apart from breaking up the blend tree into separate nodes,to resolve this issue?

Anyone?

Is it waiting to play the loop before creating the blend? I ask as this is the problem I noticed but not yet tried blend trees.

I thought blend trees would remove the issue but by the looks of it maybe not.
