# translate units per frame to actual speed?

does anyone know a good way to calculate the speed of which units move into speed? like lets say i have a Unit moving roughly 600 U/F and i want to know what the speed of it is.

the reason i am asking is because i want two different objects with no rigidbody, and they need to have exactly the same velocity. but the second object has to move ahead of the other object but never get away from it.

and i am using Lerp. based on time.

I don’t think units per frame is a meaningful metric as your objects will move twice as far per frame at 30 FPS as 60 FPS. Units per second is more meaningful. Calculating that is simple: distance / time = units per second. If your object is moving 100 units and it takes 5 seconds to do it, then your object is moving 20 units per second.

If you mean converting that into “real world” units, than usually 1 unit = 1 metre in Unity.

let me word it differently then. my Velocity is about 400 U/S so it moves roughly 600 doing a 1.5 Sec journey. how do i recalculate that back into something i can use for another object to move with that same Unit speed?

and i want to somehow use it with a Lerp. on a secondary object since i already calculate the Units per second
