I know how to make water transparent in previous versions of unity by changing opaque into transparent etc. in the water basic script but doing that dosn’t seem to work in the new version of unity. I’ve tried importing the old basic water asset but it dosn’t show up in the editor like it does in old versions of unity. In the old versions you could change the alpha of the texture but in new versions I can’t find anywhere to do this. Anyone know how to do it, I’ve gone through the forums but can’t seem to find anything related to new unity versions (indie free versions)
This would be easier to answer if you just said 4.x and 5.x
are you asking “How do I make Water 4 transparent in Unity 5.x”?
In unity 4.6
Yes I’m asking how to make transparent in unity 4
sorry mate. That looks to be calculated. Shader edit probably.
Here I have made all the textures have transparent channel info - seems to affect the fresnel.
I use the pro, I honestly don’t know. Did find a few links though
Hope it helps
(I suppose you don’t want to use 5.x for some reason I am unaware of)
Solved the problem, I needed to drag the ocean gradient cube into the inspector panel and then I could change all the textures and transparency. Thanks for your help too.
