i am really not sure what i am doing here right now, but it almost looks like a triplanar terrain shader – at least on my computer: mac book pro, nvidia geforce 9400M –
which is quite exciting to me as all other solutions that can be found here do not work on my system.
so i would like to ask you what you see.
please post your impressions and hardware setup.
i have to admit that there are some artifacts especially at very sharp edges where the terrain raises pretty steep – but those are completely ok to me as that kind of geometry will more or less not appear on any properly modeled terrain.
so just let me know what you think.
no, it is not based on farfarer’s shader but on a irrlicht shader virror posted a while ago…
my shader has minor problems with texture distortion at some steep edges and minor lighting errors… anyway: it is tthe only solution so far that works for me.
Im a wimdows user and getting some small artifacts with the shader.
Surprised no one has found this before, just googled “triplanar shader” and took the code i found and made it work with the unity shader system. Dont know my self why this works on mac but the others don’t.
