Trouble with distorted scene on Win8 Surface Pro

Hi Gurus,

I have a single scene out of 3 in my game that is distorted on a Win8 Surface Pro (ie, chrome, ff). The first two scene loads are shown. They are both within the same game run. The offending scene is loaded, played and dismissed, then reloaded.

On my other test machines (Vista Compaq, Win8 Lenovo) (ie, chrome, ff) it correctly looks like this:

On the troubled machine (Win8 Surface Pro) i’ve tried the following:
uninstall/reboot/reinstall Unity webplayer.

The difference in the scenes that might have an impact is that the offending scene has a terrain, whereas the other 2 scenes do not. (???).

The worst part is that I don’t really know how to troubleshoot this type of problem.

Anything else I can provide to aid in your assistance?

Trying not to stress as I’ve started getting the game in other’s hands to use…

Help!

Thank you.

Partial solution:

I went into the offending scene and removed all of the textures that were previously in there and replaced them with a simple “sand” texture with no normal map. I also removed all of the trees and all textures that were in the Paint area.

This allowed the terrain to load correctly the first time on the Win8 Surface Pro (ie, chrome, ff).

There must have been an offending texture in the terrain somewhere (Paint Texture, Place Trees, Paint Details).

I’m sure I’m mixing something up here. If a Guru was to come along and help me straighten out my terminology or whatever else I’ve got screwy, so that maybe someone else might benefit from my drivel, that would be great.

I’d be glad to upvote you for your efforts
