Sorry about the self pimping guys but I forgot to post here a game development video I made!
The basic story is I have been working on a game in Unity for a little while now and along with building the game
I’ve been recording and making a video diary chronicling my game development escapades.
I am very excited to finally unvail this thing which took way too much of my time to create!
Here it is in its 720p glory(unless youtube messes it up) :
I truly hope you guys like it and find it somewhat helpful to what you’re currently doing. Even
if not, grabbing a nice cup of coffee and watching me elaborate my game development
process, should be inspirational
I hope to make more of these things, though, this one took quite a bit of effort. If you guys
like it, drop me a line, it might give me the push I need to make the next on a reality
Thanks!
-Max
P.S - I’ve given my folio an update as well(Borderlands stuff ftw!) pdude2k7.blogspot.com
Fantastic documentation of process and really well put together video. I enjoyed watching it and wanted to hear what you had to say. The game is also looking very nice.
For those who are curious about the mind mapping program used at the beginning of the video, I did some research and I believe the program he’s using is XMind. If not than it’s very similar.
Wow thanks for the awesome replies guys! I really appreciate your feedback and support
As far as how long it took me to make this its kinda hard to say, since I was developing the
game during the making of the episode and constantly kept cramming features into it as
development progressed. A rough ballpark figure would be around 5-7 months.
The mind mapping program I used for the design stage is indeed XMind.
For the next episode I am gonna go over the process of making a boss character for
the game, from a rough concept to modeling and animation and finally code and gameplay testing.
