Trying to decide if I should do an Armv6 + Armv7 Build

Hi there,

I’m totally stuck on this and I was hoping someone could help me figure out what to do.
I kinda want to add support to 2nd Gen iPod devices but since you are now required to have an armv7 build, that would mean that I need to build both and the file size would double, putting me out of the 20meg download limit range and making it bloated for a large part of the user base.

I have thought that maybe I’d make a new version that’s specifically for the older devices and keep them a bit separate, but that could get messy.

I’m not sure what to do does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks
Pete

Aside of a “bit messy”, it would be rejected unless there is a significant enough delta.

Apple doesn’t support them anymore; neither should you! :stuck_out_tongue:

When was it required to have an arm7 build? I had updates approved yesterday that were arm6?

Thanks Guys, yeah the extra app idea was a bit naff I’ll put that to bed.

Hehe, yeah but it seems like there are a lot of 2nd gen iPod owners, maybe that’s why they let them on the 4.2 update?

Well Xcode does throw a warning, and though they are being let through at the moment, it’s not certain how long this will last.
