I have been suddenly dropped into a project I am unfamiliar with and I have to edit some FBX files but I have no idea where these things are located or what the FBX’s are actually named.
I have a scene with some assets in it and I know which assets in my heirarchy need to be edited, but I don’t know how to find them in the Project folder. can files be reverse searched?
This forum is for Agent Navigation questions - like using Unity’s NavMesh or some A* stuff. However, if you have the objects in the hierarchy, and they have mesh components on them, you should be able to select the mesh in the component, and it should point back to the Project asset.

It its a prefab press the select button that appears at the top of all prefabs in the inspector.
