Two Questions

Question 1: I’m planning to make a Zelda Maker game thing where the available styles are Zelda 1, Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess, but two of the styles are 2D and three are 3D. Is it possible to put both dimensions in one Unity game?

Question 2: Said fangame also needs a way to upload dungeons online for the course kingdom and Hyrule quest modes, but I have no idea how to do that. It seems much more complicated than, say, making a multiplayer game, because it stores more than sudden key presses and server space.

Q1: Yes. I always create 3D project when making a new project in Unity. Lets you switch between 2D and 3D however you like. Probably the same for the 2D setting. You just have to change how the camera works. Several games I’ve made are 2D but use 3D objects, hence why I always start in a 3D project. Though I couldnt tell you the difference.

Q2: I’m not sure how to answer this. Start small and work your way up. Multiplayer is complicated, having moddable aspects of the game is extremely advanced too. Make a singleplayer prototype of what you would like first since it seems like you are a beginner you will learn so much just by doing the small projects. When you feel comfortable enough that you are not asking a million questions in your head of how to do things then start on the next step of your gamedev journey. At least thats my advice
