Hi everyone. I Just started using Unity engine,and I have two dubts related to Unity workflow;
1°:Can I model objects like in softwares like Blender or 3Dmax?
2°:Can I apply extern textures in the objects,or I can only use the textured offered by Unity?I’m asking it because I tried to apply my own texture in a cube,but I coudn’t.

Yes, you can model in Blender, 3d max, Maya, Sculptris etc.
And import your 3d models into Unity! -
I hope I read your 2nd question correctly.
Yes you can make external textures in Photoshop/ Gimp even Blender etc, and import them into Unity.
And in Unity, “after applying a material/shader onto you 3d object ;),” you can import your texture and cover your
3d object with it. -
Next time, ask this question in the Discussion Section of the Unity Forum.
Even though the 2nd question, sort of fits into this Section of the forum.
Note: There are Unity user manual here on the site too.
And a Beginners Tutorial Section too.
You’ll learn lots of things there.
Enjoy!
Ok Brandystarbrite,thanks a lot for aswering. I’m going to see the Unity user manual as you said :).
Yay!!
