So I noticed this the other day, but not having used the terrain tool that much prior, I couldn’t recall if it was happening in 2.6 as well. Basically I’m getting lots of delay in the U3 beta when doing terrain sculpting or texture painting. Most typically, I’ll drag the mouse/stylus, and watch the screen freeze up, updating every once in a while if I do a long stroke. If I do a short stroke, it updates almost immediately after lifting the mouse button/stylus. Is anyone else experiencing this, or do I have a setting I need to tweak somewhere?
Btw, I fired up 2.6 again, and sure enough, it was working fine.
Ok, this is the second report I’ve heard of this. Can you please send in a bug report with the project folder? We need that project folder to reproduce this. PM me with the case number if you submit the bug report.
Ive had this same problem, I cant recall if it happened in 2.6, I remember it didnt when I first started with Unity.
I start painting or sculpting or anything, as soon as I click and hold the screen freezes till I realese it, I cant see what I am doing, very frustrating.
Same bug here. Bug is less present when painting with a heightmap resolution of 512. If I set the heightmap to 1024 or 2048, lag when painting/sculpting appear. In unity 2.6 there is no problem to use a map resolution of 1024 or 2048.
Btw, in the past I used http://www.earthsculptor.com/ to
sculpt terrains and it would be great if some options includes in this old program could be include in unity 3!
