I would like to see some replies so that I can improve the game.

Also when you find some bugs please tell me about them so that I can remove them.

I think its really attractive the multiplayer view, i mean, that the game modality depends on the team you choose.

ill test it at home

.org

Here are my first view suggestions:

  • Perhaps you can slightly speed up as well as smooth out your intro animation where you show your name. Just a touch faster would be nice, and it seems a bit jerky towards the end.

  • Maybe use some fog to mask the terrain’s hard borders? Just enough fog so that I don’t see those edges? That may not prove optimal but when the camera is animating to the top of the plateau it would be nice to not see those edges. Another approach is to just control the camera angle/view, like get really close to the plateau sides so it fills the view as you go up?

  • Maybe you can also give folks a way to fast forward/skip each of the intro animations, first your name then again to get to the initial menu screen?

  • The background music changes abruptly from your intro animation to the first menu screen.

  • I think you ought to speed up the credits display a bit as well use a more readable font (it’s not that it’s not readable, I just prefer cleaner simpler fonts for that sort of thing). You should also definitely give folks a way to bail out of those once they start (pressing any key or clicking should skip me out for example).

  • If I create a game (by myself, not connected to any server I think) I get the “choose a team” dialog but if I click ok I get an error saying each team must have a player. Ok, I’m by myself and you don’t offer a cancel/back button. Cmd-Q it is! :stuck_out_tongue:

It looks like it’s got potential though, I hope my comments above aren’t too rough - they’re just my first reactions after launching the game just now. I’d love to give it a try with someone else to see how it plays, how do we go about setting that up?

Oh, and check your PMs!

i tried to play it but no one to play with ; (

my thoughts in general echo what higgy has mentioned, but also i’d say the terrain shaping could use more work. it needs some natural variation to it - even if the overall look is to be cartoony - its too ‘monotone’ right now.

i’d add some gently rolling slopes in the flat spots and random bumps divets in your cliffs (and vary the overall heights here there).

will see if i can play again later : )

Hi

Thanks for the replies

  1. You can skip any intro/credits by pressing escape.
  2. You can play a game when you open one and someone else joins your game.
  3. For the other things I will try to bug fix them.

A better (real manual) for the game will be available in the final release cause the face of the game could change any time…

Hi

a new version is now online.

  • A InGame help is now included and can be shown by pressing F1.

  • A cancel button is added to the team choose menu

  • I also removed some bugs.

Have fun to try it out.

I’m still getting over not expecting a snowman in a castle game, but that’s good.

Your downloads page is broken. It fills Firefox with a truckload of question marks.

Hi

The download page works now also in Firefox (Thanks for the hint  )

I would have really liked to test this, but didn’t see a way to do it without other players. Will anyone else play with me?
