UA 2008: Outpost

this game had very, very good graphics. The only thing it seemed to be lacking was a good control system. Also, your own chasis blinded the view of the enemies you were shooting. Perhaps an optional 1st person mode? Great work overall.

Hello! The graphics are really amazing. I don’t have my sound card installed at present so I can’t say anything about audio.

I thought the game was straight forward. It is self-explanatory and you can start shooting stuff right away. The controls felt somewhat wierd. I would’ve like to “stride” left and right with the arrows, and turn using the mouse. When in the air, it acts pretty much my desired way, but the Mech is always going left and right. It is really hard to continue in a straight line.

Same here. I would’ve liked a “really really high view” and a “really high view”. Both looking down at the mech. A first person would be really nice too (and easy to implement).

edit: I forgot to say a crosshair is ESSENTIAL. :slight_smile:

Your observations are spot on. We’ve discussed some of these things and we’ll implement them after the contest is over.

Has anyone tried the 3D effect yet?
