UA 2009 - questions about entries/showcase pages

I submitted an entry for UA 2009 on Friday, but so far I’ve had no response or confirmation that my entry was received or accepted. Is there any confirmation given? Should I send it again?

Also, I’m seeing quite a few show showcase threads created for UA 2009 entries, and yet many of them seem not to have appeared on the ‘official’ entries thread by HiggyB. What’s going on there? Have you guys who’ve created your own UA showcase thread received a confirmation or did you just go ahead and make your showcase anyway?

I’m a bit concerned that my entry might have been lost or something!

From HiggyB’s signature:

I’m in the same boat as you. I submitted yesterday, but I imagine we’ll be seeing the forum updates/entry responses in the next couple of days.

Yeh I saw that other thread, and I read the UA entry requirements. I’m pretty sure I fulfilled them appropriately.

It doesn’t say that having a showcase thread is a requirement, and personally I’d feel happier waiting until I know my entry is accepted before creating one. I just kind of expected that someone else might have been handling the entries while Tom was away, given that the deadline is today!

Oh well… waiting with bated breath here!

I agree, someone else should have been handling the entries. There is a deadline and not getting a reply to our mails nor seeing our games in the sticky threads make us worry a bit.

Don’t worry, guys. If you have submitted, we’ll look at the date of submittal for this, and not whether Tom got around to making the official threads.

Thanks Nicholas.

One further question - should we go ahead and create our own showcase threads, or should we wait for an official response to our entry first?

I was out of the office late last week and then yesterday (Monday) was a federal holiday here in the USA. I’m going through this weekend’s mountain of last minute submissions and will get replies out to everyone and get entries listed in the Unity Awards Entries thread.

And go ahead and start a Showcase thread Ben, you’re good to go!
