uGUI text outline / border?

Hi all,

I have a small problem which is preventing me from being able to use the new GUI system: I need to be able to add an outline to my text. The text is white, so it means that it can’t be seen easily against some backgrounds unless I put a black outline on the text. With NGUI, which I am migrating from, they have an outline setting.

Hi Wayne,

You can do just that!

Select the Text UI component you would like the outline on and then:
Component > UI > Effects > Outline

For some reason I thought “UnityGUI” referred to the new GUI, thanks for the link to the beta board!
