UI gone from Hierarchy -> Create?

Is not being able to create a uGui canvas or UI element from the Create or Right-Click menu in the Hierarchy by design, or is this a bug? Is everyone having this happen or is there something wrong with my Editor settings after upgrading a project?

I am still able to create a canvas from GameObject menu, no errors are in the console.

It’s working here, I have it in my menu when I right click an object in the hierarchy.

Interesting, I am still not seeing it in a clean new project either and I’ve rebooted. I’m using OS X Yosemite and don’t have a Win machine at work to test on.

That’s annoying… I haven’t tried it on a new project so am not sure if it’s different there. This was on my previous one.

It was working in my old project right up until I installed the 5.1 beta!

Bah, too bad. I just tried it on a new project and it’s working here. Don’t know what to say, sorry.

You could try checking under Edit > Modules… to make sure the GUISystem module is loaded and enabled?

I’m not sure what you mean about the Edit menu, there is nothing called “Modules” there. The GUI works fine, it’s just odd that it only can be created by clicking GameObject menu instead of directly in the Hierarchy. I looked at the Module Manager and it says GUISystem 5.1.0 - loaded.

I had noticed this one as well, and also that it went all the way down in the main menu. I had filed a bug on that a while back and hope they’ll fix this soon. It looks like those two issues are related … maybe some refactoring.

I installed Beta 4 today, and my UI options are all fixed now! Yay!

Awesome!

I’m currently having this issue and I’m on Beta 4. I have to go to the GameObject menu to select UI objects, and it’s located way at the bottom in an odd place.

Ugh, mine’s gone again too in Beta 5. I’m not sure which main feature they are tinkering with that is making it drop the UI create menu. I don’t see anything in the release notes that looks obvious.
