UI renders on Kindle Fire HD Gen 3+, not on Gen 2<

NGUI UI elements rendering as expected on newer Kindle Fire HD devices (running Fire OS 4+).
All generation 1 & 2 devices will not render elements correctly. Functionality is still there, but buttons remain invisible.

Any ideas? Is this an Open GL issue with older Kindle Fire devices? Something we need to do when deploying new Android builds?

I think it doesn’t support Opengl ES2?
