Hi, UMA Helper pack is now on the asset store at the price of 10$, i think it’s a good package for help to artist to make creations for UMA without a lot of effort.
Well … I don’t know what kind of a helper you are trying to make.
I gather Fernando is working on releasing alternative base models, UnLogick has a pack that makes it easier to use UMAs in scenes, Goat has some sort of project underway (which sounds similar to this one), and someone (I forget who) was planning on adding capabilities for horns, wings, and tails.
Looking at what UMA Helper currently provides, I might wish for it to be a more complete recipe editor, so that it can adjust not only colors and overlays, but the physical dimensions of the body, much like the sliders in the crowd example. It would be good if it could not only automatically generate and name a recipe, but also take a recipe as input for modification. So you could take the recipe for “Amy,” make a few changes, and output a recipe for “Wendy.” It would be good if it could do this both in the inspector and at runtime.
Other helpful things might be integrating UMA with Playmaker, NGUI, Killer Waves, and stuff like that, though that of course may be beyond the scope of this particular project.
Well, the tool i actually did is a tool for help to the designer with the custom models they make, you can tweak the code for do it in the game of course, but actually i think you have another idea in mind, i can’t integrate this with those packages because there is no need xD.
The save to prefab is in Joen’s tool, so you can combine mine with Joen’s tool.
Let me know if you have any more suggestion.
PD: The helper is done as you can see in the video and it’s released, some artists are using it actually.
Hi hopeful, maybe you want to know that i’m upgrading this asset, maybe i can include the ngui thing, i have playmaker too, but i don’t see the need of custom actions, here is a small preview of the next update.
