But UModeler Pro has been waited for to be approved by Unity Asset Store. It won’t take a long to be out.
UModeler will have two versions.
One is UModeler Pro and the other one is UModeler Basic.
UModeler Pro will be a paid extension and it has full functions of UModeler so that even complicated static meshes can be modeled in Unity.
On the other hand UModeler Basic will be a free version and it has only a few functions enough to make prototype levels.
The demo videos shown above is about building prototype levels with UModeler Basic and building a simple hoseu with UModeler Pro.
UModeler Basic looks very simple because it has much fewer functions than Pro version but it is still powerful. You can make sure that prototyping can be done in an intuitive way with only the following functions in UModeler Basic.
Vertex/Edge/Polygon Transfomation
Line
Rectangle
Push Pull
Inset
Finally somebody is making Sketchup like modeler for Unity. I have been wonderign why this has not happened earlier.
It is har to see from videos, but is the a possibility to model with exact measures and lock axis when drawing? I mean taking a line tool and locking the axis for draw direction and typing for example 2m to get 2m line drawn into the certain direction?
Thanks, this looks really nice a easy tool! I was also supposed to ask about construction lines but there seems to be this kind of functionality already!
One more question. When draing a line or geometry and defining the value of of lenght/heights/distance/etc.do you need to click to input field to define this value or are you eble to just start typing it like in Sketchup? In the video it is hard to see how this happens.
You should click on the input fields to type the values in UModeler but I think it would be better to enable numbers to be typed without clicking on the fields. I’ll consider adding this feature in the next updates.
