Unable to compile with Monodevelop

I am editing my scripts with Monodevelop. Until recently everything worked great, I could just press “Compile” and I saw all errors right in Monodevelop without the need to go back to Unity. Now I get some weird error message when compiling stuff:

Exception caught by the compiler while compiling:

So for some odd reason it is missing Boo. Has anyone of you had that issue yet? If so, how did you fix it?

you likely added in JS which relies on Boo too

You mean I have some JavaScripts in my project - I just checked there seem to be no JavaScripts in there. Or did you mean something else?

Thats what I meant yes if you added a Boo or JS script anywhere in the project (including the Standard assets, pro assets, plugins folder)

Hmm, i checked again, there is no such thing in there. I don’t use any of the provided assets in there and there are only C# scripts… Any other reason why this could occur? Or, how I could fix it… e.g. by adding some assembly references?

All C# classes, but like you I do use the character controller, and maybe that pulls in something. I haven’t tried compiling my project with VS, to see if it is a mono develop thing or whatever.

In case you have this problem, add the following dll to your Monodevelop project referencelist:

/Applications/Unity/Unity.app/Contents/Frameworks/Mono.framework/Boo.Lang.dll

Yup that did the trick for me. Thank you

I managed to solve this by installing .net framework version 4.5.
