I was able to get my game working on Android via the build and run settings. however each time I want to test my game I need to use build and run which is very time consuming.
For some reason after doing build and run, the APK is not stored on my homescreen of my phone (Note 9)
I even tried moving the APK from my PC to the Android and was able to find the APK from the File Manager in Android, but when I click on it nothing happens
Hi Jackson, yeah I know what you mean about the “Must build to test”, but there’s no way around it AFAIK.
As for testing the install, can I just confirm that you take the APK that’s built on your PC, move it to you phone, navigate (on your phone) to the .APK and then try to open it? If that is the case, have you enabled the option to allow app installs from “Unknown Sources”?
Check and see if Unity Remote works for you. It’s supposed to make it easy to test your games on an Android device but it’s pretty hit or miss if it actually works in my experience. Still it’s worth trying just to save time.
Thanks. It looks like the issue I had about the APK not stored on my homescreen was because I had to choose “Install unkown apps” in Setting of Android and then set the “My Files” app to allow unknown apps
