Unable to load a webplayer on the PC Windows XP?

Having problems loading ANY unity webplayer on the PC. What it will do is load the webplayer all the way to the end of the loading bar and freeze whatever browser I am in. I develop in unity on the Mac and have never had a problem with webplayers mac or pc related. I recently upgraded to 2.5 on the mac and now the webplayers freeze Internet explorer OR firefox in unusable states on the PC. I have to control alt delete sometimes to be able to shut down the browser. I have tried alot of things from upgrading to Internet explorer 8 to the latest video card drivers to tweaking little things here and there and nothing seems to work same thing everytime on any webplayer I try to load on the pc. Here are my system specs. Thanks.

Windows XP Home Edition SP2
3.06 ghz cpu
2 gb ram
Nvidia geforce 7600 gs with latest drivers

I’ve had this in the past.
It was related to a specific setting in the antivirus application I had back then.
Can’t say which one that was thought as I’ve switched through several in that time to find the right one.

I was using avast as my antivirus but uninstalled it. I use spyware detector but even if I turn off my firewall shut off spyware detector still freezes up any browser on the PC. Hope somebody is having simlilar problems to help out here I am out of ideas to get this to work.

Hey Nadeon. I am not sure what you mean if I go to those settings for Regional and Language Options where do I need to uncheck or check what setting to see if that might be the case? Thanks.

Hi miguel!

What language have you selected in format (inside of Regional and Language Options)??

Unity has a bug and if the format is set in “spanish” for example, all of your browsers will crash.

try to set this property to “english (eeuu)”

Hola Miguel!

I am too having this problem on another computer of mine. I reported the problem through the bug reporter on 26.3.2009 but haven’t heard from it since.

Unity Editor also freezes on start up: http://i42.tinypic.com/rh7229.jpg
(what’s that CUSTOM menu up there BTW? I don’t have this on my computer).

Here is the specs:
D3D9: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS ; GL: NVIDIA Corporation,GeForce 7600 GS/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW!; Windows XP Service Pack 2 (5.1.2600); AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+;

I tried to change the languages in the Regional settings, but it didn’t have any effect.

Anybody know whats causing this?

I just noticed that we both have same graphics card. Could be hardware related then.

Wasnt about the GPU :S
