Unable to run compiled application (OSX 10.6.4 Macbook Pro)

I am using the free version of Unity. Whenever I build a new project, I am unable to run it (using either option “OS X Universal Binary Standalone” or “OS X Intel Standalone”).

I get two dialogs - “The Aplication xxxxx can’t be opened. -10810” and "The operation can’t be completed. And unexpected error occured (error code -10810).

Opening the system console shows the following error: Background: Aqua: ASCII control characters are not allowed in job labels. Index: 30 value: 0x8

I have deleted my old unity, and downloaded and installed it again, and get the same error.

Funny thing is, it only happens on projects that I create - If I open a sample project, it compiles and runs correctly. If I open the package itself (by clicking on the icon, and selecting “show package contents”, I can drill down into the MACOS folder, and manually run the application without a problem.

Is there some preference I have goofed up? Anyone have any ideas?

Apparently, I had a control code (backspace) in my address card somehow – in my “company name”. However, once I fixed this, it still doesn’t run. I’ll try reinstalling after this, to see if that fixes it.

the error sounds like you named the application with letters not supported for executables
