You did such a great job with the first one, janpec. I’m excited to see what this one has.
Particularly nice was that you had marine dinosaurs in it. That was pretty neat

May I suggest some more mollusks, and exotic critters. Maybe even some marine animals from your own imagination.

@jc_lvngstn Heh sure, didnt know that dinosaurs were the selling point in that pack, i can easily add few more of them in this pack too.

very nice  I like the crab

janpec, I’ve purchased two of your packs. I’m happy with them, but I have a few requests:

  1. Please make sure the z-origin faces forward. When it doesn’t, it forces me to either correct it in a 3D program or parent the object in a new game object.
  2. Model the objects on a real-life scale. My clown fish is the size of a killer whale (or the killer whale is the size of my clown fish, not sure.) My apatosaurus is the size of my ankylosaurus, etc.
  3. Take a little more time with the animations. One of my dinos looks like he is typing on a keyboard when he runs.

I have a request from a user too, if you can fit it in sometime. The lion fish doesn’t swim like he does in your pack. Have a look at this video. His spiny fins just sort of float out like he’s gliding. Other than that, it’s similar, I think.

Thanks for these packs. Looking forward to this new one.

Cheers!

EvilDingo thanks for pointing that up. I will follow your rules for scaling and orientation in any future work, i have been getting similar advice from another forum user too.
As for dinosaur animations, all animations were outsourced becouse i dont have time to do them neither enough patience i dont want to defend them but i still think that animators did good job.

Lionfish and most of fish from first pack have very basic animations becouse those were my first animation tasks, i wont be doing any changes for that pack but i will make sure that i do better job on this new pack. Another problem was that it was quite difficult to model those fins and keep polycount low while still having decent movement.

Hi , janpec. I’ve bought your first pack, and it did has some really amazing fish. Good job! :stuck_out_tongue:

But I’ve got a question, In your forum thread(http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/121410-Sea-life-pack) I saw some coral and rock pics, but I didn’t find it in the asset pack. How can I get it? I really appericiate it if you can help me.

I’ll definitely buy the second pack, It looks amazing, can’t wait!!

Thanks Leiv, what are you refering to is “free prop pack” that i released on sea life pack thread. You can find it on 5 or 6th page with link to download. Its not Asset store link but rather just uploading site.

@janpec, I’ve downloaded the package. Thanks buddy

Quick video preview.

Pack has been released on Asset store. Price is 10 bucks.

I’m very interested about this pack just for the crab! Can you tell me how many polys he have and what kind animation is he capable of doing?
