Underwater Player Movement

Sorry for duplicating this topic by posting it in both the showcase as well as this section. After posting the thread I realized this project still needed some more development.

The project has 2 scripts, an underwater player movement script and a camera script.

Here they are : 1093912–41103–$PlayerMovement.js (702 Bytes) 1087917–40839–$PlayerCamera.js (1.31 KB)

And here’s the webplayer : http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73916347/UnderwaterWebPlayer/WebPlayer.html

I have made this for a rigidbody player but the same concept can be applied for character controllers as well. And if anyone wants to edit or add something more to these scripts, then please feel free to do so, but don’t forget to post them here.

I really hope this helps

Controls :
press the forward key or w to move and use the mouse to move in a particular direction.

Your Webplayer doesnt work.

Damn it… My webplayers never work at first shot… I have edited it now… Could you please try it again ??

Sorry for the inconvenience

Yo dude, i dont know man, i feel that the movement is wierd in the webplayer. its like beeing drunk. Doesnt feel like underwater… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

 I guess its because of the camera… I have exaggerated the camera smoothing for the webplayer. Does the player movement also seem awkward ??

Bump

Well i thought you moved by moving your mouse up and down the screen but it got me dizzy after a bit

I just added the instruction for controls on the main post. And I guess I’ll have to tone down the smoothness of the camera in order to make it look a bit less “drunk” :stuck_out_tongue:
